Tonight, Meelie told me I sucked. I agreed with her. I do. Really big time. Just be thankful you don't have me as a mom. I would make you honor your commitments. For instance, for the sake of this post, let's just say you were a member of a Cheer Leading Team that had a major competition on December 1st. To sweeten the pot, we'll just say that you have ALL NEXT WEEK OFF from practice because school is out all next week for the Thanksgiving Holiday. And then? Your friend's parents offered to take you to dinner with them that same night that you had your last practice before break, before a major competition, and I said no. You can't go. You have to go to practice.
So you see? I suck. I'm mean. But I'm making sure my kids no what it means to honor commitments. And I won't back down. No matter how much it sucks. No matter how much I hurt.

Oh Moogie - sometimes moms have to suck........but you did the right thing.
Could Meelie's friends not reschedule the dinner for the Thanksgiving week off? Wow, how about that for compromise??
Honey, I need your help at the Palace :-)

Why do they dump it back it us? They made the commitment!
I don't like having to be the bad guy either but we have to stick to our guns.
Hugs!

I thought I could do it but I am getting shaky shaky....

No moogie you don't suck, have her friends reschedule or better yet tell she can go but if she does no "competition", now no meelie at competition could possibly mean no team at competition.... you see where I'm going with this.
I know blackmail is such a dirty word isn't it but alas sometimes required.

Well damn are you a softie. I'd have made her go to the practice AND clean her room - just for telling you you sucked.
You're slipping, Moog. Have I taught you nothing?

Isn't this the reason why there is no "Worst Mother" award? We'd all have to share it. Good luck. It's not easy being Mom.
