Hmmm... that's a toughie... bad advice from my mom.... I remember my mom advising me to try to be more like everyone else because kids were picking on me so much in grade school. Of course, that advice rarely works for long, because the child can't "be" anyone else but themselves. And kids are good at picking out phonies and pretenders.
