My husband didn't agree with me that watching the Mrs. America Pageant was a good lesson in Geography for the kids. My response? "What better way is there to learn about all of the states? I suppose you want them to look at a map or something."

Perhaps this is why I'm only allowed to chaperone on field trips.

Sounds plausible to me. In a similar vein, I think watching old SeaQuest episodes would help build a healthy appreciation for the environment. Likewise, Star Trek might teach our kids about acceptance and peace. The list, apparently, is endless.

Heck, even the A Team would contain embedded lessons about friendship and team building.

i am afraid to comment on the relationship between geography and Miss america, I may say something distasteful ( in the blogosphere, what IS distasteful?)
