It is hot here. Yes, I realize I live in the south and this should be no surprise. It has been hovering, at or around 100 degrees the past few days. And until tonight, there has been no breeze. For the sake of saving my energy, I will not discuss the humidity factor. Let's just say its wicked high.
Air conditioning is my friend.
My yard, on the other hand, looks like it came from an episode of the Wild Kingdom. Oh look! Is that an alligator? Did I mention I hate snakes?
I have been perpetually walking with my head straight up, because if I let it fall down to my chest, I can smell myself. I assure you, this is not a good thing.
Generally, I do fine with the heat until it reaches 90 degrees. You know it's going to be a bad day, when at 6:00 in the morning, on your day off, you check your thermometer, and it's up to 82.
Truth be told, it's not completely awful, because we do have air conditioning. We try to limit our time outdoors during these periods as much as we can.
It really does a number on the kids. It's too hot to play outside, and they get sick of mom screaming "oh my God would you please stop making so much noise and leaving full cans of soda on the floor where the dogs knock them over." It's a lose-lose situation. And as much as I hate to admit it, I'm not so hard-assed that I will make my children go outside to play when it is hot enough to fry an egg on the street.
Now if you will excuse me, it's time for a bath. That is, after I take my clothes off, and peel the undergarments from my body.

That sucks Moogie! I feel for your soada-sticky floors! What really blows is that in your neck of the woods as soon as the weather cools off enough so your kids can be outside for longer than a few minuets, the blood sucking swarms of gnats rise out of the swamp and take over! Ah-ha! I miss GA though! I DO! I miss you guys! Not the gnats.

Moogie, I don't know HOW you do it - I find it HOT here and it's nothing compared to th' South. I think I"m in for it when I get to Helen, even though it will be September!!!

I'm like you - having been in Florida 10 years I thought the heat was no problem. Especially after bein an outside sales rep for so long.
But this year? Up north? Yeah - kickin' my a$$. We're in the mid 90's again this weekend and no relief in sight.
But y'all? Yeah - it's only July. It's my experience that September is the WORST month for heat.....
Hang in there!!
