Have you ever, ever, at any point in your life, wanted to walk up to someone, and get into their face and say: SHUT UP!

I'm not saying that I'm tempted. I was just curous.

Hmm, Now I have I... Yeah I suppose you could say there have been a few times that maybe just maybe I've wanted to do that...
FYI Moogs: This is me just back on-line... been offline since Sat :(

Umm - EVERY SINGLE DAY! Sometimes I even say it under my breath over and over while someone is talking...and if I can't say it I will think it. Someday that little switch in my head that controls appropriate behavior will break and I'll totally yell it and then I'll be free to blog all day every day because I will be unemployed ;D

Someone very specific comes to mind, actually. I wish I could tell her a couple other things along with SHUT YOUR MOUTH YOU STUPID..oh, um. Yeah, I can totally relate.

I think everyone wants to do this from time to time. I'm sure people have wanted to do it to me from time to time as well.

YES!! There have been a couple of co-workers over the years that I would have loved to do that to.

Absolutely! I bet everyone has had a moment like that. I don't usually act on those feelings too often, but one time I just coudln't help it when my friend and I were leaving a concert and it was too crowded to move. The guy behind us was pushing and being loud, rowdy and very drunk. I turned around and not only told him to shut up, but when he started trying to push by me, I elbowed him and it knocked him to the ground. It was a welcomed "event" because everyone around us cheered and clapped that the asshole was finally shut up!

I have been there done that. That's why no one will sit beside me on the short bus.

Absolutely. Though sometimes I don't say "shut up" but just something that sounds polite but is actually biting so that they'll get the message and shut up on their own without my actually having to say so....

Me, but I am such a delicate flower. Hell, yes, I have had that urge! Have you ever been to a PTA meeting?

Posted by: Melonie at March 25, 2005 07:09 AM

.. been there many, many times, Moogie....

Yeah, I hate when I get that urge! Typically I am not an agressive person, but I can be like a pressure cooker too. Hmm..something for me to think on!

Too many times to count (which puts me in very good commenter's company!)

Most of the would-be-victims of my wrath fall into the category of open-mouthed, closed-eared. They are so freakin' busy talking that they never take the time to listen to a damn word anyone says.

To wit: I leave work early today to pick my wife up so we can do the very sad deed of having our cat put to sleep (long story...it's all on my blog). She's a teacher, and she had told her fellow teachers about this because we were concerned that our kids (their students) might have trouble in class today.

So moron teacher #1 (who my wife has told at least twice) sees me walking into the school and says, "Oh you're here to pick up your wife...so you're going to have a romantic afternoon?" (Imagine this complete with the swooning tone of voice...gaaa!)

I maintain my stone-faced look and calmly tell her, "Not exactly." When she sees my wife, she repeats the EXACT SAME THING.

Loser. I felt like telling her to shut the [bad word] up, but thought better of it. Some people...
