Since I'm celebrating my loss of memory because I ate beef, I figured I'd carry on the personna of "If I only had a brain."

Speaking of brains, I am positive that my oldest daughter left hers at school, along with about 6 coats, and her homework calendar. Now that she has developed bumps she's developing a world class attitude to go with it.

Me: No

Her:
That is so unfair. I just might as well be invisible to you because I NEVER, and I mean NEVER get to do anything I want to do. You always say no. You just don't understand how hard it is to be me. It's really hard. I have to go to school and do homework..and then I have dance, and Oh.My.Gosh. I'm going to be playing softball soon and you are so mean I never get to have any fun at all. (and lord have mercy, dogs and cats, living in sin, I hate my life and you are the worst Mom in the whole world because everyone's mom let's everyone do whatever they want whenever they want YOU MEAN MOM YOU!). I tell you, I'd love to meet this "everyone's mom" cuz I really want to pop her one.

The absolute, only thing that saves her is that she is so cute when she is asleep.

That speech sounds familiar - oh yeah, I remember, I think I said it every day for about 3 years starting about 20 years ago!

Mrsrum stole my words Moogie. God, as soon as I read them, I immediately reflected back to when I was a young "girl" when I thought that my Mum and Dad were against me all the way. When I thought my friends had the most "groviest' Mum and Dad, because they allowed them to do things that I was not allowed to do. I hear you Moogie, but "tough" love always wins in the end. Take care Moogie, catch up with you again xoxox

If I had a nickel, yes, nickel for everytime my oldest feels the need to give me that speech I would be more wealthy than Bill Gates! Yes, she to is cute when sleeping.

We need to form a parental support group.

My 10 year old son gives me pretty much the same speech. I AM the meanest mom EVER! I guess we just don't understand... HA!

Hello, Michele sent me. I'm so bad at the scavenger hunt game that I can't even recognize my own clue. I suck at it, I know. Instead of stressing about it though, I decided to just enjoy the blogs playing so here I am.

After reading several of your posts, laughing at the memories they brought back of growing up in a family of girls...I've decided once again that I'm soooooo lucky to be raising a son. Boys just seem so much easier. Not easy mind you, but easier.

Got a very similar speach just last night prompted by my disapproval of 1 grade on the report card. "My life is so hard...you don't understand.....you have unrealistic expectations" Yeah, he really said unrealistic expectations. Also saved by being cute when he sleeps and the secret language he has with jack the cat.

Want to trade for a couple days with a 4 year old that throws chairs to express his displeasure ?

Don't mind me - just scavenging around. (Michele told me to!)

You know...there's a reason the good lord made children so cute!? It's to prevent us from strangling them.

Hey Moogie! Great Blog!!! I popped over from Zoot's.

I also have a 10 year old girl and boy do I ever hear ya sister! Along with the bumps (although, they are a bit more than bumps now and it's genetically all MY fault) there is that FRIGHTENING attitude. I was the recipient of a similar speech with a few "I hate you's, you just DONT UNDERSTAND MOMMMMMM" thrown in for good measure.

But she's adorable, which has saved her tail many a time.

Perserverance dear Moogie, perserverance.

Hello there, I've popped 'round on Michele's scavenger hunt and I've enjoyed reading some of your posts! :-)

I left every jacket I ever owned at school growing up. They also had a special place for things in the lost and found that they knew were mine. So - maybe your daughter will grow up to be like me!!! (why are you screaming?)
